What is the purpose of our site ?
The purpose of our site is to make it as easy as possible for you to contact people around the world by means most convenient to you. All contact that you make with other members is anonymous, whether you are using email or our chat systems. Here you will find a community of singles who are using our site as a tool to make connections and to find romance, dates, friends, pen pals, activity partners and marriage partners. To find your match, we offer quick search or by using the advanced features, you can customise your criteria. We have brought dating into the 21st century and beyond, it couldn't easier to findbe your perfect partner. Anyone can join in and make contact, irrespective of membership level, opening up a vast database of members that is possible to contact directly. View and contact online members, or simply send them a message to contact you when they are back online. Our accurate searching and interactive matching combined with a safe community environment create a secure place to hang out, have fun and meet other people.

Membership to our site is free. We only have one requirement: To ensure the quality of our website and for the protection of our members, we only accept members who are open and honest about themselves and their purpose for wanting to contact other members. Members must completely and honestly create their profile about themselves. We review each member's profile and if it does not meet our guidelines, it will be rejected. Note - we check everyone's IP address! If you are not registering from the country that you say you are from, we cannot approve your membership.

Are members on this site screened ?
Yes - For the safety and security of our members all placements are checked to verify authenticity. A valid e-mail address is required in order to become a member of this site, you will not be able to activate your account without one. All our services are confidential and your privacy is as much of a concern for us as it is for our members. However, we cannot do extensive background checks on members, and we expect you to understand that we cannot take responsibility for any damage caused to you by use of this site. Please use common sense and be careful about giving out personal information to people you meet.

SAFETY WARNING:
We recommend that you do not reply or disclose your private, personal or confidential details to any member(s) that asks you to do so or even asks you to contact them at their email address. It could possibly be a scam and you could become their victim. Always reply or communicate with other member(s) using our site's messaging system unless you are absolutely sure about the opposite member(s).

What is the difference in entering as a guest and entering as a member ?
Our site works on a membership system as we must be able to keep data files that contain your profile information and other information such as your Favorites. Guests may only browse the site's structure & functionality to make an appraisal. In order to view profiles and respond to ads using our emailing services, you must be registered with a valid e-mail address. You must also be a member in order to create favorites, use chat, e-mail service and other features.

Our refund policy
Our site has a no refund policy. This issue is covered prior to you joining, in the membership Terms and Conditions, under both the refund policy agreement and the application form, which you agreed to, before joining the site as a paid member. We offer a free trial period for all users, before they join as an upgraded member. This is done to allow ALL members the facility to view the site and see how it works, in its entirety (with a few limitations to its use), before joining as an upgraded member. Unless there is an error in the operation of our program or processes, our system has a no refund policy after our services have been used, unless the goods are defective in some way. If you feel that our services have been defective in any way please contact us here, with your reasons for claiming a refund plus a copy of your user registration details and Transaction ID Number or Payment invoice (without this we will be unable to help). The user registration details and invoice are sent to the user upon joining the site. All refunds will be made within 30 days of the users application. If a refund is granted then this will be on a pro-rata basis for how long you have used the membership. A small administration charge will be deducted from the amount paid. We operate within the recommended standards and laws regarding National and International fair Trading.

Are profiles censored ? Is there any limit to what I can put in my profile ?
Yes. All member profiles, when they are originally created as well as when they are modified, must be approved by our webmasters. We reserve the right to refuse any profile or photograph that we feel is inappropriate for this site. Also, we ask that you do not put any personal information in your profile, including, but not limited to: your home address, a personal beeper, cell or telephone number, a real e-mail address or personal web address. Any offenders of this rule will be banned from the site.

How do I change my personal information ?
Changing personal information is extremely easy. If you would like to update the information about yourself that you submitted during registration, write a new heading and description for your profile as well as editing main criteria for your matches just go to the Edit Profile option on the My Profile page. There you can edit any part of your personal information; save it by clicking Submit button.

How do I recognise scammers ?
Scammers are mostly MEN pretending to be women seeking love. They will be writing you sweet e-mails saying how much in love they are and how much they want to meet you in real life.
For further information on scamming we suggest you visit www.agencyscams.com. This site runs an excellent database of past and present Scammers, with good advice on what to avoid.

How do I send an e-mail to members ?
You can send e-mail to users by clicking the button Send Message from that persons profile page. Simply type in your message or select a template you wish to send and click the Send button.

What is the Block List feature ?
While viewing members profiles or reading or replying messages in your Messages Inbox you will have an option to add members to Block List. After you have added someone to your Block List you will not receive any notifications, or e-mails from this particular member unless you remove him or her from the Block List. This feature helps you limit your contacts with people you don't really like.

Guidelines for creating your profile
Make sure you register with an original user name. You must write a legible word, abbreviations, dots ......, xxx, ???, :-) will not be accepted.

About Me - you must write something about yourself (minimum 2 lines). Don't know what to write? How do you see yourself? What is your lifestyle? What are your interests? How do you spend your free time? What hobbies do you have? What kind of movies do you like? What type of music do you like? All these will give others an idea of the kind of person you are. The best advice we can give you here, is to be honest, don't create the wrong impression.

Abbreviations, dots ..., or :-) or "I am looking for you", "write me", "ask me", "find out for yourself", "I'll tell you later" are not really serious statements and will not be accepted!

Looking for - you must write something about the person you are looking to meet (minimum 1 line). Let members know what you are looking for, friendship, partnership, marriage, email friendship, a vacation partner, sharing of hobbies? What qualities or personality would you like the person to have? What age group?
Statements like "a woman", "for fun", "write me", "for sex" etc. will not be accepted.

In general, you must provide an honest and open profile showing your interest to meet other people. Only portrait photos (with recognisable faces), will be accepted. Photos or videos that have nothing to do with the person, unrealistic pictures, comics, etc., will not be accepted. Erotic or nude photos will NOT be accepted. ALL ADULT RATED MATERIAL, MEDIA OR WHAT WE CONSIDER OFFENSIVE WILL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY AND YOUR ACCOUNT SUSPENDED.

It is not permitted to publish your email address, phone number, mailing address, references to other websites or other means of communication (Chat room, ICQ, etc.) in your profile, please respect this.

Safety online

* Don't post personal information. Wait until you feel comfortable with an individual before telling them things like your phone number or place of work or address.
* Never give out your bank account details or any other financial information. If you are approached by any member then report them immediately.
* Don't let anyone pressure you into giving away more information than you want to.
* Beware of solicitation & watch out for anyone offering financial advice or asking for charitable contributions.
* Even if you're arranging to meet someone, do not give out any unnecessary personal details such as your home address.
* If you feel unsure or threatened by someone's behaviour, stop contact with them immediately. Visit their profile and use the Block button to prevent any further contact. It is against TC Dating's terms and conditions to harrass any member and violation of this policy can lead to account suspension.

Having trouble finding someone?
The number one reason people fail to find someone is normally down to lack of information in their member profile. Far too many people leave profile fields with their default settings and upload no pictures of themselves. Then they wonder why no one is interested in communicating with them! Members who are reluctant to reveal any details about themselves are viewed with extreme suspicion and ultimately have an unsuccessful experience.

A good photo is very important as most members search profiles that contain pictures first. Try to use one that is current and of good likeness, certainly not from 10 years previous!

To modify your profile click the My Profile menu option in the menu bar at the top of each page. Complete the fields and try to describe yourself as creatively and honest as possible. When you are finished don't forget to click the "Submit" button to save your changes.

How do I cancel my account?
For whatever reason , if you want to cancel your account, simply login, choose settings from the main menu then, Privacy (sub menu) then, bottom of the page "Who can view my profile", click on the down arrow and select "Cancel account". Submit your choice, you will then be asked to confirm your decision before your account is removed.

IMPORTANT:If you have already used your trial period and are a paying member for one of our monthly packages, then please cancel your subscription to TC Dating (Thai-Connexion.com) via your PayPal account. Otherwise, payment will be automatically sent to us at the beginning of each new subscription period.

How do I block certain members from contacting me?
We cannot take action against members who contact you under normal conditions, even if you believe their intentions are not genuine. Either ignore the messages, delete them or block them from contacting you.

If you receive an unsolicited message requesting contact via an off site e-mail address and/or phone number then use the "Report abuse" feature of this website to report the violator. In this instance, please copy the contents of message received into the "Report Abuse" form before submitting it to us. Messages of this nature should be treated with suspicion and we advise you to ignore them and make no attempt to communicate with the sender.

How to block a member:
1) Search for the screen name of the member you want to block and then view their profile.
2) Click the "Block member" test on the right hand side of the page and confirm you want to block the member by clicking the "OK" button.

Once blocked, a member will be unable to contact you through the TC Dating website.

You can view a list of all blocked members by clicking on the "BLOCKED" text inside your settings.

How do I change my screen name
Simply click on "Settings" on the menu bar at the top of every page. You can change your user name, password and email details.

How to upload a picture
Many people seem to have difficulty uploading a picture. The following assumes you have taken a picture with a digital camera and transferred it to your computer. There are two types of picture; a)Profile Photo b)Album Photo

Profile Photo
1. Login to My Profile.
2. Select "Change Photo", white menu bar.
3. "Browse" button and find your photo on your hard drive.
4. "Submit".


Album Photo
1. Login, choose Pictures, white menu bar.
2. Assuming you haven't already created any albums, "Add album" right hand side of page.
3. Give a description title for this album and decide who can view it, "Submit".
4. Click "View pictures" then, "Add picture".
5. Enter description then browse, find the picture on your hard drive, make necessary choices and "Submit".


Please Note: In an effort to control the quality and content of uploaded material we have to approve all photos before members can view them.

How do I switch on/off new message notifications?

* Click Settings from the white menu bar at the top of every page.
* Click on the Notifications text.
* Change the value of the various settings to either Yes or No.
* Click the Submit button to save changes.

How do I delete messages from my Inbox/Sent folder?

* Select either the Inbox or Sent folder by clicking on their respective tabs in the Messages display.
* Click in the check box on the right of each message you want to delete. A tick will appear in the check box next to each message.
* Click the "Delete selected" link at the bottom right of the Messages display.

The system won't let me send any more messages
We have set a limitation that you can send up to 10 mails per hour and store a maximum of 500 in your mail box. If you exceed any combination of these limits then you will not be able to send any further messages.
If this is becoming a problem please contact us.

I forgot my password, what do I do?
Not a problem, click on the "Forgot password" link under the login box on the left hand side of each page.

How do I change my password?
Select Settings from the white menu bar at the top of every page. You can change other settings here and your password. Dont forget to click the Submit button.

When viewing profiles, NOTHING is displayed when I click on the various tabs!
Please make sure you have Javascript enabled in your web browser. TC Dating, like many other sites, uses Javascript to enable certain functions.

Using search returns no results!
Assuming that you are already logged in, if no results are being returned by the search function then it is because there are no profiles that meet your specific search criteria. Try searching again with less specific criteria. To test the search function select "man" for the "I am" field and then "woman" for the "Seeking a" field. Submitting this search should result in many profiles being found.

Chat not working!
Make sure you have Javascript enabled in your browser as this is required for instant chat.

If no errors are displayed and the only problem is that no one is replying then the person you are trying to chat to may be off-line or not responding.

Do I need to logout when leaving TC Dating.com?
Although not essential to logout at the end of every session, we recommend that you do, as good practice.
If your computer is shared or privacy is a concern then it is prudent to logout when you exit the site. The Logout option can be found in the Member's white menu on the right hand side of every page.

I registered but I never got the activation e-mail
Have you checked your junk mail folder? Are you receiving mail from others?
Hotmail and other free e-mail services quite often update their spam filters. We frequently receive notification of failed e-mail delivery because an e-mail address is invalid or the account has exceeded its storage capacity. Before contacting us, test your e-mail address and make sure you can receive messages to the e-mail address specified during your sign up process.
If you have checked the above and still have not received an activation e-mail then use the "Contact Us" menu option.

What if I don't like something about TC Dating?
Good question! It would be impossible to please everyone, that's why we encourage you to contact us if you feel something is not quite right or maybe you have a suggestion for a new feature.
In some cases, it may be possible through our control panel, to make slight adjustments or add information as required to make TC Dating even better, let us know what you think.
